Matt Powell is a Mortgage Banker in Lafayette, CO but helps clients all over Colorado.
In business, Matt is known for three things; one, in uncanny ability to find a solution, two, his relentless work ethic and honesty, and three, an exhausting commitment to somehow make his clients laugh and enjoy the home buying process.
Running the annual family garage sale like a boss at a young age and convincing his Mom that the all the profits belonged to him to support his mild baseball card collecting obsession and his R/C car driving pursuit of a national sponsor, may have been in first job, but the mortgage business became his career where he could truly impact someone’s livelihood and help them.
Not garnering any high-profile degrees or accolades from an Ivy League law school or even the local community college, he went on to work odd jobs; delivering giant TV’s, installing windows, and running a bar and restaurant. Matt’s lovely wife Jamie soon made him realize, by announcing their first son was on the way, that he needed to find a career. It just so happened that his long-time buddy, Greg Selters (current Branch Manager), was hiring in the mortgage business and welcomed him with open arms in early 2007. It was a great match for Matt but most would call his timing awful, being that it was right in the beginning stages of the recession.
Matt quickly realized that this business provided him a couple of invaluable opportunities. He could learn the business from the best by getting in at the ground level and surviving lean times, and he could help people realize the dream of home ownership! Whether assisting folks with their first home, buying their retirement home, financing a vacation home or securing financing for a home that will become an investment property, Matt and his team will always provide a world class experience, and honest advice. Many thanks to his past clients that appreciate his service and have continued to refer their colleagues, friends and family, making Matt a top producer.
When Matt is not at the office, he is probably watching his sons’ sporting events (Cole and Logan), pretending that he “rough’s it” when camping with his family, digging up excuses on why he needs to take his wife on a long weekend getaway, putting divots on the local golf courses’ tee box, or maybe pretending to make championship BBQ, but nonetheless he’s probably got his phone in his hand, so you should consider giving him a call with any mortgage related question.
